I woke up with a nauseating migraine.
I NEVER have migraines.
Even still, I have made an effort to find the blessings within it.
-I am thankful for my husband who can flex his schedule a bit sometimes.
He made breakfast for us all, even though it meant he would be behind in his day.
-I am thankful for the smiles I was able to put on my kids' faces when I said that they
could have a Dum-Dum at 9am (I know *badmom*, but the silence was a must).
-I am thankful for a wiggly, squishy baby who still takes morning naps :)
As I took time to see the blessings in a really uncomfortable situation, I realized that I was slowing down time. You might think,
"Wouldn't you want to SPEED it up with that headache?"
I would have said "Yes!" a few days ago.
But, I chose to focus on the positive, not the negative. And it's not even noon :)
What a perspective changer it is to CHANGE ME FIRST.
The rest will follow.
My kids didn't feel upset by being told to "shush."
I wasn't as overwhelmed.
I was able to give PRAISE!
If I wake up tomorrow with another migraine,
I can't say that I will be
HAPPY,
but I will be
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if
there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Philippians 4:8
I was thanking God for a toilet to puke in....haha!
